PATRASYS have recently noticed that there are individuals who are going around different Internet forums stating that Patrasys is a scam. This is wholely inaccurate information and the reasons for this are listed below:
Why it is impossible for Patrasys to take your money:
When a card holder makes a payment online, they get fraud protection with all credit cards. The Consumer Credit Act 1974 and the European E-commerce Directive 2002 ensure that all consumers are protected from fraud whenever they use their credit cards. In this instance if a card holder purchases goods from a store and the merchant using Patrasys is paid in advance, then the merchant goes in to administartion or is declared bankrupt, the card holder will still be entitled to a full refund from Patrasys whether the merchant repays this money or not. Hence we do hold a reserve pool to cover such loses, however we also take into consideration the risks involved in dealing with businesses in todays economic climate. We are adamant that we will not assist fraudulent suppliers in defrauding legitimate card holders, and in the same token we have one of the lowest card fraud levels against our users to date due to our very stringent card fraud prevention measures that keep total card fraud to less than 1% per year.
Patrasys clearly state that if a website is involved in selling illegal goods or products which is clearly listed in our terms and conditions, we will have no option but to suspend the account of the fraudulent individual. These fraudulent individuals then become disgruntled and proceed to start malicious campaigns against Patrasys in the only way they know can not be vetted, and that is via the Internet.
We can confidently state that there is NOT a single legitimate merchant, who has followed our terms and conditions of trade that can complain that we have not honoured our terms of the agreement. All the negative reviews about Patrasys have been written by some of these fraudulent individuals who have been stopped from using our services for some of the following reasons:
Individual 1: Leethacks.com
Was discovered to be involved in credit card number generation and theft. All card transactions were reported as card fraud by the credit card holders.
Individual 2: http://www.ethos.eu
Merchant was selling unlicensed medication, and sold this in bottles with no labels or any medical license. This was after we carried out a secret shopper exercise. Merchant was given 28 days to provide a medical license number or proof the products were licensed for sale in the EU and they never provided this information. Their account was closed as a result of no response from merchant having been received after 45 days. An investigation was launched with the MRHA - http://www.mhra.gov.uk. Patrasys is not against providing our services to medical companies as long as they are selling a legitimate product that is licensed and does not pose a risk to the user. It is important that medical products do hold a label that gives due advise to the user on what side effects they may experience and what the medication contains, so as to assist anyone allergic in understanding the risk of taking the medication.
Individual 3:
H Str Mirrors.co.uk - Taking payments via Patrasys and not delivering goods to the card holders. This was after the merchant assured Patrasys that the goods had been delivered. When card holders subsequently complained about non delivery of goods, Patrasys suspended the account and this individual continuously verbally abused and threatened to attack a member of staff. This is the same individual in over 4 blogs registerd as 4 different users.
Individual 4:
Accepting card payments for accomodation in Lamanga Spain that would only be available after 6 to 8 months. This was against our terms and conditions and we proceeded to suspend the account. We agreed to pay merchant only after the holiday accomodation was provided. Merchant proceeded to write negative comments about Patrasys without allowing us to resolve this as per our terms and conditions. After all the card holders received their goods and services, as per our terms and conditions, Patrasys proceeded to release all the reserve fees held to cover any refunds back to the merchant in full.
Individual 5:
Selling worthless ineffective viagra tablets. Account closed and card holders re-imbursed.
Conclusion:
Patrasys is a legitimate company and we have a very large number of very happy customers. We have counted less than 10 total complaints on the internet to date of which most of these complaints are unfounded. Whenever you deal with retail, you are bound to have a few difficult customers who know that the Internet is a very unregulated medium and they can write anything about anyone without proof. We offer a service second to none and have implemented measures to ensure that this does not happen again. If you have any questions, please contact Patrasys by sending information to riskassesment@patrasys.com and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. For all our customer using Patrasys, we will continue to ensure that we promote their business and keep them happy with the service we offer.
